At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 7th level or higher, the damage increases by 2d6 for each slot level above 6th.
Components. The powder of a crushed black pearl worth at least 500 gp.

A sphere of negative energy ripples out in a 60-foot radius sphere from a point within range. Each creature in that area must make a Constitution saving throw. A target takes 8d6 necrotic damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.
Every humanoid killed by the spell must make a Wisdom saving throw or be animated as a Ghast under the control of the spellcaster. The spellcaster must maintain concentration to control the the ghasts, or the undead will become free-willed. Once the control is lost, it can recovered only by proper magical means.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 7th level or higher, the damage increases by 2d6 for each slot level above 6th.
Components. Black Pearl worth 500 gp, Animate Dead (spell).

SPELL VARIANT #2

All undead targets within the area of effect heal 8d6 hit points. Also, any skeleton or zombie affected by this spell variant, has a 50% to animate again when destroyed. Skeleton and zombies must be of medium sized humanoids only.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 7th level or higher, the healing increases by 2d6 for each slot level above 6th. Also, the chance of animating again after being destroyed, increases by 10% for each slot level above 6 (60% for 7th level, 70% for 8th level, 80% for 9th level).
Components. Unholy Symbol worth 1,000 gp (not consumed), Black Onyx worth 50 gp (for each undead).
