5th Edition Advanced Mode
Limiting the power of a character and making the overall difficulty of the game harder, does not reduce the creativity, indeed it does quite the opposite.
The Game Master has the option to use any and all of the instances proposed in this guide, or just some of them according to their preference.

It is the lack of something that move and motivate characters, not the abundance of it

Draegloth

A draegloth is a monstrous hybrid of a drow and a glabrezu, a type of demon. They are the result of a dark and dangerous ritual performed by a drow high priestess of Lolth, the spider goddess. Draegloths are gifted with both physical strength and innate magic, making them formidable foes or allies for any adventurer.

Description

Draegloths are large, muscular creatures with four arms and two legs. They have the upper body of a drow, with dark skin, white hair, and red eyes, and the lower body of a glabrezu, with black fur, claws, and a long tail. They also have a pair of horns on their head and a pair of mandibles on their mouth. Draegloths stand about 9 feet tall and weigh about 700 pounds.

Draegloths have two pairs of arms: one pair is huge and powerful, tipped with sharp claws; the other pair is the size and shape of drow arms, capable of delicate movements. Their face is clearly demonic, with bestial features, glowing red eyes, an elongated doglike snout, and a mouth full of sharp teeth.

Draegloths are intelligent and cunning, but also savage and bloodthirsty. They have a strong loyalty to their drow mothers and their houses, but also a rebellious streak and a desire for independence. They enjoy causing pain and suffering to others, especially to their enemies or rivals. They have a deep hatred for surface elves and other good-aligned races.

Draegloths can speak Abyssal, Elvish, and Undercommon, as well as the languages of their drow mothers. They can also communicate telepathically with other creatures within 100 feet.

Combat

Draegloths are fierce and relentless fighters, using their four arms to wield weapons or cast spells. They prefer to ambush their prey or attack from surprise, using their stealth and magic to gain an advantage. They often fight alongside their drow kin or other servants of Lolth, coordinating their tactics and following orders from their superiors.

Draegloths have several innate magical abilities that they can use at will or once per day. They can create darkness, detect magic, dispel magic, enlarge or reduce themselves or others, levitate, mirror image, spider climb, and web. They can also summon more glabrezu demons to aid them in battle, though this ability has a chance of failure.

Draegloths are resistant to cold, fire, and lightning damage, as well as poison. They are immune to being poisoned. They have darkvision up to 120 feet and can see in magical darkness. They also have a keen sense of smell and hearing.

Habitat / Society

Draegloths are usually found in the Underdark, the vast network of caverns and tunnels beneath the surface world. They live among the drow cities or outposts, serving as elite warriors or bodyguards for their mothers or other high-ranking drow. They are treated with respect and fear by most drow, but also with envy and suspicion by some.

Draegloths have a complex relationship with their drow kin. On one hand, they share a common ancestry and worship the same goddess. On the other hand, they are seen as outsiders and abominations by some drow who value purity and tradition. Draegloths often feel conflicted between their loyalty to their mothers and their houses, and their own ambitions and desires.

Draegloths rarely interact with other races, except as enemies or slaves. They despise surface elves and other good-aligned races who oppose Lolth and her followers. They also have a rivalry with other demonic creatures who serve different demon lords or have different agendas. Draegloths sometimes ally with other evil races who share their goals or interests, such as duergar, illithids, orcs, or yuan-ti.

Ecology

Draegloths are not natural creatures, but rather artificial creations of Lolth’s twisted will. They are born from a ritual that involves a drow high priestess mating with a glabrezu demon summoned by Lolth herself. The ritual is dangerous and painful for both participants, and often results in death or madness for the priestess. The draegloth child is then raised by its mother or another drow caretaker until it reaches adulthood.

Draegloths are carnivorous and require large amounts of meat to sustain themselves. They hunt for food in the Underdark or raid nearby settlements for livestock or slaves. They have no qualms about eating sentient beings, especially those they consider enemies or inferiors.

Draegloths are sterile and cannot reproduce on their own. The only way to create more draegloths is to repeat the ritual that spawned them in the first place. This makes draegloths rare and valuable among the drow society, but also limits their population growth.
