5th Edition Advanced Mode
Limiting the power of a character and making the overall difficulty of the game harder, does not reduce the creativity, indeed it does quite the opposite.
The Game Master has the option to use any and all of the instances proposed in this guide, or just some of them according to their preference.

It is the lack of something that move and motivate characters, not the abundance of it

DESCRIPTION

A giant bat, or mobat, is a large creature that resembles a cross between a North American cave bat and a vampire bat. It has a wingspan of up to 20 feet and a body length of about 6 feet. Its fur is usually dark brown or black, and its eyes are red and glowing. Its ears are large and pointed, and its mouth is full of sharp teeth. A giant bat can emit a loud screech that can stun or frighten its prey.

COMBAT

A giant bat relies on its echolocation and keen hearing to locate and attack its enemies. It can fly at high speeds and swoop down on its target with its powerful bite. A giant bat can also use its screech as a weapon, causing creatures within 30 feet of it to make a saving throw or be stunned or frightened for a short time. A giant bat is not very intelligent, but it can follow simple commands from a master or ally.

HABITAT / SOCIETY

A giant bat lives in dark and secluded places, such as caves, ruins, or forests. It prefers to hunt at night, feeding on the blood of large animals or humanoids. A giant bat can form a bond with another creature, such as a vampire, a werebat, or an xvart, and serve as a loyal mount or companion. A giant bat can communicate with ordinary bats and rats, as well as other giant bats. A giant bat is usually solitary or lives in small groups of up to six individuals.

ECOLOGY

A giant bat is a magical beast that plays an important role in the ecosystem of the Underdark and other dark realms. It helps to control the population of rodents and other pests, and provides food for predators such as dragons, manticores, or rocs. A giant bat can also be used as a source of leather, fur, meat, or blood by various creatures. A giant bat is sometimes hunted for sport or captured for experimentation by evil wizards or cultists.
