Limiting the power of a character and making the overall difficulty of the game harder, does not reduce the creativity, indeed it does quite the opposite.
The Game Master has the option to use any and all of the instances proposed in this guide, or just some of them according to their preference.

It is the lack of something that move and motivate characters, not the abundance of it

DESCRIPTION

Yuan-Ti Histachii are a type of undead yuan-ti that are created by a gruesome ritual involving necromancy and yuan-ti venom. They are also known as ur-histachii, which means “egg-watchers” in the yuan-ti language. They resemble emaciated and rotting versions of their living counterparts, with grey or yellow-green scales, bloodshot eyes, forked tongues, and yellowed fangs. They have a foul odor of decay and mold, and often have maggots infesting their open wounds. They are mindless and obedient slaves to their yuan-ti masters, who use them as guards, assassins, or cannon fodder.

COMBAT

Yuan-Ti Histachii are ferocious and relentless fighters, who attack any non-reptilian creature on sight. They use their claws and teeth as their primary weapons, and can enter a berserk state once per day to increase their strength and speed. They have no regard for their own safety or survival, and will fight to the death to protect their masters or the eggs they are assigned to tend. They are immune to charm, hold, sleep, poison, and death magic, but are vulnerable to holy water and fire. They do not wear armor or use weapons, relying on their natural toughness and agility.

HABITAT / SOCIETY

Yuan-Ti Histachii are found in warm and tropical climates, usually in jungles or underground lairs. They are among the lowest castes in yuan-ti society, and are treated with contempt and disgust by other yuan-ti. Their main purpose is to serve as caretakers of the brood chambers, where they watch over the eggs and hatchlings of the yuan-ti. They also perform other menial tasks, such as moving supplies, hunting prey, or guarding prisoners. They are sometimes sent on missions outside their lairs, either by teleportation or by stealthy infiltration. They have no culture or language of their own, and only communicate with hisses and growls.

ECOLOGY

Yuan-Ti Histachii are created by a ritual that involves sacrificing human prisoners to transform them into undead yuan-ti. The ritual is costly and draining for the necromancers who oversee it, and requires several rare and expensive components. The ritual lasts up to three days, and can produce up to eight histachii per session. The transformation process is painful and irreversible for the victims, who lose their memories, personalities, and free will.

Only humans can become histachii. Non-humans who drink the yuan-ti mixture must also make a DC 16 constitution saving throw; if they fail, they die in 2d4 rounds. If a human fails his saving throw after consuming the mixture, a few desperate measures may prevent his transformation into a histachii. If neutralize poison, dispel magic, remove curse, and heal are cast on the victim in precisely this order; the transformation process will be reversed but the victim will permanently lose 1 point of Intelligence. A wish or a limited wish will reverse the transformation with no loss of Intelligence. Once the transformation is complete; only a wish can restore the victim to his former self.

Histachii live 2d8×10 years after their creation. They cannot breed; histachii only can be created from human beings.

Histachii are completely submissive to their yuan-ti masters; carrying out their every order without hesitation. Like yuan-ti; histachii are strictly carnivorous; feasting on rats; worms; and other vermin. They also eat yuan-ti leftovers. In rare moments of leisure; the servants enjoy soaking in pools of cool water.
