Death Roll (suggested). The giant crocodile can make a death roll attack on a target that has not escaped the grapple of its bite. The death roll inflicts 32 (6d8+5) slashing damage (no hit roll required), but the giant crocodile cannot take any other action.

Hold Breath. The crocodile can hold its breath for 30 minutes (suggested 15 minutes as per the crocodile).

Surprise Attack (suggested). When the giant crocodile is underwater and undetected (the target fails a perception check against the giant crocodile’s stealth check), then the crocodile gains advantage on its attack with the jaw.

Water Sensitive (suggested). The giant crocodile has advantage on all perception checks when underwater and to detect targets moving in water.

ACTIONS

  • Multiattack. The crocodile makes two attacks: one with its bite and one with its tail.
  • Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +8 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 21 (3d10 + 5) piercing damage, and the target is grappled (escape DC 16). Until this grapple ends, the target is restrained, and the crocodile can’t bite another target.
  • Tail. Melee Weapon Attack: +8 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target not grappled by the crocodile. Hit: 14 (2d8 + 5) bludgeoning damage. If the target is a creature, it must succeed on a DC 16 Strength saving throw or be knocked prone.
  • Tail (suggested). Melee Weapon Attack: +8 to hit, reach 15 ft., one target not grappled by the crocodile. Hit: 18 (3d6 + 5) bludgeoning damage. If the target is a creature, it must succeed on a DC 16 Strength saving throw or be knocked prone.

DESCRIPTION

The Giant Crocodile is a massive beast that resembles a normal crocodile, but with a much larger size and strength. It can grow up to 30 feet long and weigh over 2,000 pounds. Its body is covered with thick, scaly skin that protects it from most attacks. Its jaws are powerful enough to crush bones and metal, and its tail can sweep away enemies with ease. The Giant Crocodile has a dull green or brown coloration that helps it blend in with its swampy environment.

COMBAT

The Giant Crocodile is a fearsome predator that attacks anything that enters its territory. It prefers to ambush its prey by hiding under water or among vegetation, and then striking with its bite and tail. It can hold its breath for up to 30 minutes, making it difficult to detect or escape from. Once it bites a target, it tries to drag it underwater and drown it, or shake it violently until it dies. The Giant Crocodile can also use its tail to knock down or stun other creatures nearby. It is not very intelligent, but it is cunning enough to avoid obvious threats or traps.

HABITAT / SOCIETY

The Giant Crocodile lives in warm, wet areas, such as swamps, marshes, jungles, or rivers. It is usually solitary, but sometimes forms small groups of two or three individuals. These groups are not very cooperative, and often fight over food or territory. The Giant Crocodile does not have any natural predators, except for other giant crocodiles or larger monsters. It feeds on anything it can catch, such as fish, birds, reptiles, mammals, or even humanoids. It does not have any particular preferences or habits, except for being territorial and aggressive.

ECOLOGY

The Giant Crocodile plays an important role in the ecosystem of its habitat. It helps regulate the population of other animals by preying on them, and also provides food for scavengers and decomposers by leaving behind carcasses. It also affects the vegetation and water quality of its environment by creating paths and pools with its movements.
