5th Edition Advanced Mode
Limiting the power of a character and making the overall difficulty of the game harder, does not reduce the creativity, indeed it does quite the opposite.
The Game Master has the option to use any and all of the instances proposed in this guide, or just some of them according to their preference.

It is the lack of something that move and motivate characters, not the abundance of it

DESCRIPTION

Orcs are a species of aggressive carnivores that band together in tribes and survive by hunting and raiding. They have grayish-green skin, coarse black hair, and red eyes. They have prominent lower canines that resemble tusks, and a slightly stooped posture. They have a snout instead of a nose, and short pointed ears that resemble those of a wolf. Their eyes have a reddish tint that allows them to see in the dark. They wear hide armor and wield greataxes or javelins as weapons. Orcs vary widely in appearance, as they frequently crossbreed with other species. They speak Orcish, a language derived from older human and elvish languages, as well as local common tongues and some goblinoid dialects.

COMBAT

Orcs are savage and brutal fighters, who charge into battle with a bloodthirsty roar. They use their strength and speed to overwhelm their enemies, often ignoring their own wounds or the death of their allies. Orcs can move quickly toward a hostile creature that they can see, using their bonus action. They also have Gruumsh’s Fury, which allows them to deal extra damage with their greataxe attacks. Orcs prefer melee combat, but they can also throw javelins at a distance if needed. Orcs are fearless and aggressive, but not very intelligent or disciplined. They can be easily provoked or tricked by their enemies.

HABITAT / SOCIETY

Orcs live in harsh and barren lands, such as arctic, mountain, swamp, or underdark regions. They are nomadic and raiding, constantly seeking new territories to plunder and dominate. Orcs are organized in tribes, which are usually composed of several clans. Each clan has its own leader, who answers to the war chief of the tribe. The war chief is the strongest and most cunning orc, who rules by might and fear. Orcs have a simple and brutal culture, based on strength, violence, and loyalty to their god Gruumsh, who commands them to conquer and destroy. They have little respect for other races, whom they consider weak and inferior. Orcs often ally with other evil creatures, such as goblins, ogres, or trolls, but they are also prone to infighting and betrayal. Orcs value territory above all else; battle experience, wealth, and number of offspring are other major sources of pride. Orcs are patriarchal; women are fit only to bear children and nurse them. Orcs have marriage customs, but orc males are not noted for their faithfulness. Orcs worship many deities, but the chief deity is usually a giant, one-eyed orc. Orcish religion is extremely hateful toward other species and urges violence and warfare. Orc shamans have been noted for their ambition, and many tribes have suffered because of political infighting between warriors and priests.

ECOLOGY

Orcs are carnivorous and omnivorous, eating whatever they can hunt or scavenge. They have a fast metabolism and a short lifespan, rarely living past 40 years. Orcs reproduce quickly and often, producing large numbers of offspring. Orcs have a natural hatred for elves, dwarves, and humans, whom they view as their enemies and rivals. Orcs are also enemies of the civilized races, who oppose their raids and invasions. Orcs are a constant threat to the peace and stability of the world, and a challenge for adventurers and heroes. Orcs are skilled miners and excellent weaponsmiths. They have a reputation for cruelty that is deserved, but humans are just as capable of evil as orcs. Orcs have no natural enemies, but they work hard to make up for this lack. Orc tribes have fearsome names such as Vile Rune, Bloody Head, Broken Bone, Evil Eye, and Dripping Blade.

Orcs are employed as material component to empower the following spells:
