The psionicist drains the target’s psychic energies to increase his own PSPs reserve.

This devastating mental attack produces different effects on psionic minds and non-psionic minds.

Non-Psionic Minds

If the target is not psionicist, then the psionicist erodes the mental capabilities of the target by draining the very essence of the target’s personality.

Each time the psionicist uses this mental attack successfully, the target loses 1 point of Intelligence, Wisdom or Charisma, at the psionicist’s discretion.

At the same time, the psionicist adds 1d12 PSPs plus the target’s Intelligence, Wisdom and Charisma modifier.

The target may attempt to resist the draining effect by making a successful Constitution saving throw.

Any PSPs exceding the maximum allowed can be retained by the psionicist by paying the Maintenance Cost.

If the psionicist stops paying the Maintenance Cost, then all the PSPs added to his pool disappear.

Psionic Minds

If the target is a psionicist, then the psionicist drains the target’s PSPs pool first.

Each time the psionicist uses this mental attack successfully, the target loses 1d12 PSPs plus the target’s Intelligence, Wisdom and Charisma modifier and the psionicist adds that same amount to his PSPs pool.

If the target exaust all his PSPs, then the psychic drain produces the same consequences as those described for a non-psionic mind.

The target recovers 1 point of ability score for each long rest.

Spells like Heal, Lesser Restoration, Greater Restoration and the like, can help the target in the recovery.

If the target, psionicist or not, is asleep or unconscious, then the psionicist drains the maximum amount of PSPs with each successful attack.
