Psychic Defense. While the githzerai is wearing no armor and wielding no shield, its AC includes its Wisdom modifier.

ACTIONS

  • Multiattack. The githzerai makes three unarmed strikes.
  • Unarmed Strike. Melee Weapon Attack: +8 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 13 (2d8 + 4) bludgeoning damage plus 13 (3d8) psychic damage.
  • Temporal Strike (Recharge 6). Melee Weapon Attack: +8 to hit, reach 5 ft., one creature. Hit: 13 (2d8 + 4) bludgeoning damage plus 52 (8d12) psychic damage. The target must succeed on a DC 16 Wisdom saving throw or move 1 round forward in time. A target moved forward in time vanishes for the duration. When the effect ends, the target reappears in the space it left or in an unoccupied space nearest to that space if it’s occupied

5th Edition Advanced Mode
Limiting the power of a character and making the overall difficulty of the game harder, does not reduce the creativity, indeed it does quite the opposite.
The Game Master has the option to use any and all of the instances proposed in this guide, or just some of them according to their preference.

It is the lack of something that move and motivate characters, not the abundance of it

DESCRIPTION

The Githzerai Enlightened are a group of githzerai who have achieved a high level of mastery over their psionic abilities and their inner self. They are calm, insightful, and meditative, following the teachings of Zerthimon, the founder of their philosophy. They have pale yellow skin, sometimes with greenish or brownish tones, and long angular skulls with deep-set eyes, flattened noses, and long pointed ears. Their hair is usually black, russet, or gray, and they wear it shaved or braided. They favor practical and unadorned clothing, with some simple jewelry.

COMBAT

The Githzerai Enlightened are formidable opponents in combat, using their psionic powers and martial skills to overcome their enemies. They are capable of minor telekinesis, as well as casting shield and detect thoughts innately. They can also use more advanced psionic abilities, such as plane shift, telekinesis, and wall of force. They are adept at unarmed combat, making three strikes per round with their fists or feet. They can also use weapons, such as daggers or staffs, if needed. They are very agile and dexterous, and their wisdom enhances their armor class. They are resistant to psychic damage and immune to charm and frighten effects.

HABITAT / SOCIETY

The Githzerai Enlightened live primarily in the plane of Limbo, where they have learned to shape the chaotic matter with their minds. They dwell in fortresses called monasteries, where they practice their philosophy and train their abilities. They are loyal to their leaders, called anarchs, who are the most powerful and wise among them. They also respect the zerths, who are the spiritual guides and mentors of their people. The Githzerai Enlightened value self-knowledge, discipline, and harmony, and seek to avoid unnecessary conflict. They are distrustful of outsiders, especially their ancient enemies, the githyanki and the mind flayers.

ECOLOGY

The Githzerai Enlightened are omnivorous, eating a variety of foods that they either grow or trade for in Limbo or other planes. They have a lifespan of about 100 years, and reach maturity at around 20 years. They reproduce sexually, and have a low birth rate. They have a complex culture and language, influenced by their history of enslavement and rebellion. They have a strong sense of identity and pride as githzerai, but also acknowledge their common origin with the githyanki. They have few allies among other races, but sometimes cooperate with them for mutual benefit or survival.
