Axiomatic Mind. The pentadrone can’t be compelled to act in a manner contrary to its nature or its instructions.

Disintegration. lf the pentadrone dies, its body disintegrates into dust, leaving behind its weapons and anything else it was carrying.

Innate Spellcasting (suggested). The pentadrone can innately cast the following spells, requiring no material components:

ACTIONS

  • Multiattack. The pentadrone makes five arm attacks.
  • Arm. Melee Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 5 (1d6 + 2) bludgeoning damage.
  • Paralysis Gas (Recharge 5- 6). The pentadrone exhales a 30-foot cone of gas. Each creature in that area must succeed on a DC 11 Constitution saving throw or be paralyzed for 1 minute. A creature can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success.
  • Paralysis Gas (suggested, Recharge 6). The pentadrone exhales a 10-foot straight line. Each creature in that area must succeed on a DC 11 Constitution saving throw or be paralyzed for 1d10 rounds.

5th Edition Advanced Mode
Limiting the power of a character and making the overall difficulty of the game harder, does not reduce the creativity, indeed it does quite the opposite.
The Game Master has the option to use any and all of the instances proposed in this guide, or just some of them according to their preference.

It is the lack of something that move and motivate characters, not the abundance of it

DESCRIPTION

A pentadrone is a type of modron, a mechanical creature that inhabits the plane of Mechanus, a realm of perfect order and law. A pentadrone resembles a five-pointed starfish with one eye on each arm, five sturdy legs, and a tube in the center. It is the most advanced of the base modrons, capable of performing five tasks at once and improvising in response to new situations. Pentadrones are loyal to their superiors, the hierarch modrons, and ultimately to Primus, the god-like ruler of Mechanus. Pentadrones can communicate with other pentadrones and quadrones, but not with lesser or higher modrons.

The highest of base modrons, pentadrones serve as the police of the base population and as intermediaries between the base modrons and the godlike (in their view) decaton hierarchs. The pentadrones receive instructions passed down by the rules of Mechanus and see that they are implemented by the quadrones, policing them as necessary.

As five-function beings, these creatures can communicate, operate, monitor, plan, and manage. They can also react to unplanned situations. In the armies of the modrons, a dozen of them are always assigned to each regimental headquarters as an elite unit, while others actually command the regiment.

COMBAT

Pentadrones prefer to use their arms as weapons, striking with five bludgeoning attacks at a time. They also have a breath weapon that releases a paralyzing gas in a cone, affecting any creature that fails to resist it. Pentadrones can use this gas to levitate as well. Pentadrones are immune to mind-affecting effects, fear, and negative or positive energy. They also have resistance to acid, cold, and fire. Pentadrones have truesight and can see in infrared and ultraviolet spectrums. If a pentadrone is destroyed, its body disintegrates into dust and a quadrone is instantly promoted to replace it.

HABITAT / SOCIETY

Pentadrones live in Mechanus, a plane of clockwork gears and precise machinery. They oversee the worker populace of modrons, such as monodrones, duodrones, and tridrones. They also serve as scouts and explorers for the modron hierarchy, venturing into other planes to gather information or fulfill missions. Pentadrones are orderly and obedient, following their instructions without question or deviation. They are not capable of independent thought or creativity, unless they become defective and go rogue. Rogue pentadrones are hunted down by other modrons, but they can sometimes be reasoned with or persuaded.

ECOLOGY

Pentadrones are constructs, not living creatures. They do not need to eat, drink, sleep, or breathe. They are powered by an internal source of energy that is replenished by Primus. Pentadrones do not reproduce or grow, but they can be created or upgraded by Primus or by other hierarch modrons. Pentadrones have no emotions or personality, but they have a sense of duty and loyalty to their superiors. Pentadrones do not interact with other creatures unless they are ordered to do so or they encounter a threat. Pentadrones are usually indifferent or hostile to outsiders, especially those who disrupt the order of Mechanus or oppose Primus.

Pentadrone is employed as material component to empower the following spells:
