You summon elementals that appear in unoccupied spaces that you can see within range. You choose one the following options for what appears:

  • One elemental of challenge rating 2 or lower
  • Two elementals of challenge rating 1 or lower
  • Four elementals of challenge rating 1/2 or lower
  • Eight elementals of challenge rating 1/4 or lower

An elemental summoned by this spell disappears when it drops to 0 hit points or when the spell ends.
The summoned creatures are friendly to you and your companions. Roll initiative for the summoned creatures as a group, which has its own turns. They obey any verbal commands that you issue to them (no action required by you). If you don’t issue any commands to them, they defend themselves from hostile creatures, but otherwise take no actions. The DM has the creatures’ statistics.

At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using certain higher-level spell slots, you choose one of the summoning options above, and more creatures appear: twice as many with a 6th-level slot and three times as many with an 8th-level slot.

You summon a Fire Mephit that appears in unoccupied spaces that you can see within range. The fire mephit has maximum hit points and generates an aura of fire that deals 1d4 fire damage in a 5-foot radius. No saving throw allowed to avoid the damage.

At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using certain higher level spell slots, you gain the following enhancement: 6th – the elemental deals double damage with both its attacks and fire aura;
8th – the elemental deals triple damage with both its attacks and fire aura.

You summon an Air Mephit that appears in unoccupied spaces that you can see within range. The air mephit has maximum hit points and generates a wind wall around its body that impose disadvantage on all ranged attack rolls against it.

At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using certain higher level spell slots, you gain the following enhancement: 6th – the elemental deals double damage and the wind wall surrounding it impose disadvantage on both ranged and melee attacks; 8th – the elemental deals triple damage. The wind wall surrounding it, impose anyone attacking the elemental to succeed in a Strength saving throw or be pushed away by 5 feet.

You summon a Water Mephit that appears in unoccupied spaces that you can see within range. The water mephit has maximum hit points and can take an extra move every round.

At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using certain higher level spell slots, you gain the following enhancement: 6th – the elemental deals double damage and it can take an extra attack each round; 8th – the elemental deals triple damage and gain 20 feet reach.

8th – the elemental deals triple damage with both its attacks and acid aura.
