5th Edition Advanced Mode
Limiting the power of a character and making the overall difficulty of the game harder, does not reduce the creativity, indeed it does quite the opposite.
The Game Master has the option to use any and all of the instances proposed in this guide, or just some of them according to their preference.

It is the lack of something that move and motivate characters, not the abundance of it

DESCRIPTION

The saber-toothed tiger is a large and powerful beast that resembles a normal tiger, but with two long, curved fangs protruding from its upper jaw. Its fur is usually orange or brown with black stripes, but some specimens have white or black fur. Its eyes are yellow or green, and its tail is long and thick. The saber-toothed tiger is a fearsome predator that can hunt down and kill almost any prey with its sharp claws and teeth.

COMBAT

The saber-toothed tiger is a cunning and agile fighter that relies on its speed and strength to overcome its enemies. It prefers to ambush its prey by hiding in dense vegetation or behind rocks, and then pouncing on them with a powerful leap. It can knock down its target with a claw attack, and then bite it with its deadly fangs as a bonus action. The saber-toothed tiger has a keen sense of smell that gives it advantage on perception checks that rely on smell. It can also use its stealth skill to avoid detection or sneak up on its foes.

HABITAT / SOCIETY

The saber-toothed tiger lives in a variety of environments, such as forests, mountains, plains, and deserts. It is usually solitary, but sometimes forms small groups of two or three individuals for hunting or mating. The saber-toothed tiger is territorial and will defend its hunting grounds from other predators or intruders. It communicates with other saber-toothed tigers by roaring, growling, hissing, or purring. The saber-toothed tiger mates once a year, and the female gives birth to one or two cubs after a gestation period of about three months. The cubs stay with their mother for about two years, until they are ready to fend for themselves.

ECOLOGY

The saber-toothed tiger is an apex predator that feeds on large herbivores, such as deer, elk, bison, or mammoths. It can also eat smaller animals, such as rabbits, rodents, birds, or fish. The saber-toothed tiger needs to eat about 10% of its body weight per day to satisfy its hunger. It usually kills its prey by biting its neck or throat, causing massive blood loss or suffocation. The saber-toothed tiger has few natural enemies, except for other large predators, such as bears, wolves, or dragons. The saber-toothed tiger is hunted by some humanoids for its fur, teeth, or claws, which are valued for their beauty or magical properties.
