5th Edition Advanced Mode
Limiting the power of a character and making the overall difficulty of the game harder, does not reduce the creativity, indeed it does quite the opposite.
The Game Master has the option to use any and all of the instances proposed in this guide, or just some of them according to their preference.

It is the lack of something that move and motivate characters, not the abundance of it

DESCRIPTION

A skeleton is a reanimated corpse of a humanoid creature, stripped of flesh and organs by decay or scavengers. It is animated by dark magic, such as a necromantic spell or a curse, and follows the commands of its creator or master. A skeleton retains some of the physical features and abilities it had in life, such as its size, shape, and weapons, but it loses any personality, memories, or emotions it once had. A skeleton has no eyes, ears, nose, or mouth, but it can perceive its surroundings through darkvision. It can understand the languages it knew in life, but it cannot speak. A skeleton’s bones are usually dirty and yellow, with bits of old flesh and fiber hanging from them. It wears scraps of armor or clothing that are aged and mismatched. An odor of decay emanates from it.

COMBAT

A skeleton is a mindless and fearless combatant that attacks the living without mercy or hesitation. It fights until it is destroyed or until its master orders it to stop. A skeleton can use any weapons or armor it had in life, or any that it finds and can wield. A skeleton is proficient with its natural weapons, such as its claws or bite, as well as any manufactured weapons it uses. A skeleton is vulnerable to damage from bludgeoning weapons, such as hammers or clubs, which can shatter its bones. A skeleton is immune to damage from poison, as well as any condition that affects living creatures, such as exhaustion or poison. A skeleton does not need to breathe, eat, or sleep.

HABITAT / SOCIETY

A skeleton does not have a natural habitat or society. It is usually found in places where its master or creator resides or operates, such as dungeons, tombs, crypts, graveyards, battlefields, or ruins. A skeleton does not have any goals or desires of its own, except to obey its master or creator. A skeleton does not interact with other creatures, unless ordered to do so by its master or creator. A skeleton may work alone or in groups with other skeletons or undead creatures under the same master or creator.

ECOLOGY

A skeleton is an unnatural creature that disrupts the balance of life and death. It is created by dark magic that defies the natural order of things. A skeleton does not have a role in the ecosystem, except to consume the resources and energy of the living. A skeleton does not reproduce or grow. It only persists as long as the magic that animates it remains intact. A skeleton can be destroyed by physical damage that breaks its bones apart, by dispelling the magic that animates it, or by removing the source of its animation, such as a necromantic item or a curse.
