The psionicist inflicts pain on the target by inducing its central nervous system into believing that its body is actually reaceiving real physical harm.

This psionic power does not provoke any sort of real wounds, because everything is happening inside the target’s mind and remains inside the target’s mind.

The psionicist can emulate any kind of painful effects like burns, broken bones, weapon wound, and so on.

The Maintenance Cost depends on the level of pain the psionicist inflicts on the target, as described below:

  • Low Pain. 1d4 damage. Maintenance Cost 2 PSP / round
  • Moderate Pain. 2d4 damage. Maintenance Cost 4 PSP / round
  • High Pain. 4d4 damage. Maintenance Cost 8 PSP / round
  • Excruciating Pain. 8d4 damage. Maintenance Cost 16 PSP / round

The psionicist must decide at the beginning of each round, what kind of pain he is inflicting on the target by deciding the what kind of damage source is causing the pain among acid, bludgeoning, cold, fire, force, lightning, necrotic, piercing, poison, psychic, radiant, slashing, and thunder.

Target’s resistances or immunities may reduce or nullify the damage caused by the pain.

The target must make a Constitution saving throw to avoid damage, and if the it takes no action in the round then it can make the saving throw with advantage.

The damage inflicted by this psionic power is restored by a short rest, however, if the target drops to zero hit points then it must make a Death saving throw.

Undead are immune to this psionic power.
