The psionicist can foresee the outcome of an event that haven’t occurred yet in the future and act properly when this event occurs by focusing one the possibile and probable course of action and then assigning a plausible probability. The farther in the future the event is, the lower is the chance that the forecast is correct.
The psionicist enters a deep meditation state that lasts the Preparation Time (see below), during this deep state of meditation he cannot take any action because his brain is making calculations and exploring all the possible futures in the attempt to forecast the most plausible and logical one.
The DC of the Power Check, the Initial Cost and the Preparation Time depends on how far in the future the psionicist is trying to see, as described below:
- Future forecasting. 1 minute / DC 8 / Initial Cost 5 PSPs / Preparation Time 1 round / Chance of Success 99%.
- Future forecasting. 1 hour / DC 10 / Initial Cost 10 PSPs / Preparation Time 1 minute / Chance of Success 95%.
- Future forecasting. 6 hours / DC 12 / Initial Cost 20 PSPs / Preparation Time 10 minutes / Chance of Success 85%.
- Future forecasting. 24 hours / DC 14 / Initial Cost 40 PSPs / Preparation Time 1 hour / Chance of Success 70%.
- Future forecasting. 1 week / DC 16 / Initial Cost 80 PSPs / Preparation Time 2 hours / Chance of Success 50%.
- Future forecasting. 1 month / DC 18 / Initial Cost 160 PSPs / Preparation Time 6 hours / Chance of Success 25%.
- Future forecasting. 1 year / DC 20 / Initial Cost 320 PSPs / Preparation Time 24 hours / Chance of Success 5%.
Each time this psionic power is initiated it will refer to a single event or set of circumstances that may or may not happen within the range of future.
The percentage of success is the chance that the forecasting is correct, and it is up to the Game Master to determine when the prediction may or may not occur.
The psionicist can use this psionici power to predict an amount of future events equal to his Intelligence score. The player must take note of the future events he wants the character to forecast and must find an agreement with the Game Master who has the task to adjust and make the prediction coherent and plausible with the adventure or campaign he is running.
The psionicist can use this power to enhance the prediction on the same event or set of circumstances by inititing this power again to increase the Chance of Success of the prediction by 5%, however doing this counts as one prediction within the limit set by his intelligence score as described above.
When the event or the set of circumstances are about to occur, and the chance of success is successful, the psionicist gains tactical advantages as described below:
- Advantage on all hit rolls
- Advantage on all skill checks
- Advantage on all saving throws
This set of tactical advantages lasts until the event and set of circumstances are connected with the object of the psionicist’s prediction. How long this advantages lasts is up to the Game Master to determine. They could last for an hostile or not hostile encounter, if the object of thje prediction was an encounter. They could last days, if the they referred to a more complex combination and sequence of encounters and interactions.
