How mental attack works for psionics
Mental attack is an ability that psionicists with access to the telepathic discipline possesses. It means that not every psionicist is capable of delivering a mental attack.
The descriptor of a mental attack is Ranged Mental Attack.
Performing a mental attack counts as an attack action.
A Ranged Mental Attack is made by rolling 1D20 and by adding the psionicist’s intelligence, wisdom and charisma modifier, the proficiency bonus plus, eventually, any modifier given by the use of a specific form of mental attack.
Ranged Mental Attack = 1D20 + Int mod. + Wis mod. + Cha mod. + Proficiency bonus + Mental Attack mod.
If the ranged mental attack is equal or higher than the target’s Mental Armor Class, then the ranged mental attack is successful.
In order to perform a ranged mental attack the psionicist must possess at least one of the following psionic powers:
- Ego Whip
- Id Insinuation
- Mind Bar
- Mind Thrust
- Psionic Blast
- Psychic Crush
- Ultrablast
