  • Chilling Gaze. The yeti targets one creature it can see within 30 feet of it. If the target can see the yeti, the target must succeed on a DC 13 Constitution saving throw against this magic or take 10 (3d6) cold damage and then be paralyzed for 1 minute, unless it is immune to cold damage. The target can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success. If the target’s saving throw is successful, or if the effect ends on it, the target is immune to the Chilling Gaze of all yetis (but not abominable yetis) for 1 hour.

5th Edition Advanced Mode
Limiting the power of a character and making the overall difficulty of the game harder, does not reduce the creativity, indeed it does quite the opposite.
The Game Master has the option to use any and all of the instances proposed in this guide, or just some of them according to their preference.

It is the lack of something that move and motivate characters, not the abundance of it

DESCRIPTION

A young remorhaz, sometimes known as a polar worm, is a large, worm-like creature with a segmented body covered in thick, chitinous plates. Its head has a pair of mandibles and a row of sharp teeth that can tear through flesh and metal. Its body is constantly heated by an internal fire, making it immune to cold and fire damage. A young remorhaz can burrow through snow and ice with ease, leaving behind a trail of melted water. A young remorhaz is about 10 feet long and weighs about 500 pounds.

COMBAT

A young remorhaz is a fierce predator that attacks anything that moves within its range. It uses its tremorsense to detect vibrations in the ground, and then bursts out of the snow to surprise its prey. It bites with its powerful jaws, inflicting both piercing and fire damage. A creature that touches the young remorhaz or hits it with a melee attack while within 5 feet of it also takes fire damage from its heated body. A young remorhaz is usually solitary, but it may cooperate with its mother or other remorhazes if they share the same territory. A young remorhaz is very aggressive and will devour any animal matter, including humanoids; it has even been known to attack frost giants.

HABITAT / SOCIETY

A young remorhaz lives in cold and snowy regions, such as the arctic or high mountains. It prefers to hunt in areas where there is enough snow or ice to conceal its presence. It feeds on any animal it can catch, including polar bears, mammoths, and even dragons. A young remorhaz is hatched from an egg laid by a female remorhaz in a deep burrow. It stays with its mother for about a year, learning how to hunt and survive. After that, it leaves to find its own territory, which it defends fiercely from intruders.

ECOLOGY

A young remorhaz is an important part of the arctic ecosystem, as it helps regulate the population of other animals and prevents them from overgrazing or depleting the resources. It also creates tunnels and pools of water that can be used by other creatures. A young remorhaz has few natural enemies, as most predators are deterred by its heat and ferocity. However, it may fall prey to larger or more cunning foes, such as frost giants, white dragons, or adventurers . A young remorhaz has no interest in treasure or magic items, but it may swallow them accidentally along with its food. Some brave or foolish treasure hunters may try to extract these items from its stomach or corpse.
