5th Edition Advanced Mode
Limiting the power of a character and making the overall difficulty of the game harder, does not reduce the creativity, indeed it does quite the opposite.
The Game Master has the option to use any and all of the instances proposed in this guide, or just some of them according to their preference.
It is the lack of something that move and motivate characters, not the abundance of it
DESCRIPTION
Yuan-Ti Purebloods are the most human-like of the yuan-ti, a race of snake-like humanoids that worship the serpent gods. They have subtle reptilian features, such as snake eyes, forked tongues, fangs, and patches of scaly skin. They are able to disguise themselves as humans and infiltrate human society as spies and saboteurs. They are cold-blooded and emotionless, viewing other races as inferior and potential prey. They have innate psionic abilities and resistance to magic, as well as the power to transform into vipers at will.
COMBAT
Yuan-Ti Purebloods are cunning and ruthless in combat, using their psionic powers to charm, frighten, or entangle their enemies. They prefer to use high-quality weapons, such as swords, daggers, or bows, and often coat them with poison. They also use their viper form to surprise or escape their foes, or to deliver venomous bites. They are loyal to their yuan-ti kin, but will not hesitate to sacrifice or betray their allies if it suits their goals.
HABITAT / SOCIETY
Yuan-Ti Purebloods live in warm and tropical regions, such as jungles, swamps, or ruins. They are part of a complex and hierarchical society that is ruled by the abominations, the most powerful and monstrous of the yuan-ti. The purebloods serve as the eyes and ears of the yuan-ti, gathering information and manipulating events in the outside world. They often form cults or secret societies among humans, luring them with promises of power or knowledge, only to use them as slaves or sacrifices. Yuan-Ti Purebloods have no concept of love or friendship, only loyalty and obedience to their serpent gods.
ECOLOGY
Yuan-Ti Purebloods are carnivorous and prefer to feed on warm-blooded creatures, especially humans. They have a lifespan of 80 to 120 years, and reach adulthood by 12 years of age. They hatch from eggs and can mate with other yuan-ti breeds, but usually do not. They have a strong connection to snakes and can communicate with them telepathically. They are enemies of most other races, especially those that oppose their evil schemes or worship different gods.
