- Evil Eye. The fomorian magically forces a creature it can see within 60 feet of it to make a DC 14 Charisma saving throw. The creature takes 27 (6d8) psychic damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.
- Curse of the Evil Eye (Recharges after a Short or Long Rest). With a stare, the fomorian uses Evil Eye, but on a failed save, the creature is also cursed with magical deformities. While deformed, the creature has its speed halved and has disadvantage on ability checks, saving throws, and attacks based on Strength or Dexterity. The transformed creature can repeat the saving throw whenever it finishes a long rest, ending the effect on a success.
5th Edition Advanced Mode
Limiting the power of a character and making the overall difficulty of the game harder, does not reduce the creativity, indeed it does quite the opposite.
The Game Master has the option to use any and all of the instances proposed in this guide, or just some of them according to their preference.
It is the lack of something that move and motivate characters, not the abundance of it
DESCRIPTION
Fomorians are a race of giant-kin that have been cursed with hideous deformities and wickedness. They are the most vile and chaotic of all giants, and they dwell in the dark places of the world, such as the Feydark and the Underdark. Fomorians vary greatly in appearance, but they all share some common features: a skin tone that ranges from purple-gray to pale-white, large warts scattered across their body, and one eye that is larger than the other. This eye, known as their evil eye, has a cat-like iris and can inflict terrible curses on those who meet its gaze. Fomorians often have other deformities, such as crooked or disproportionate limbs, humpbacks, long pointed heads, flapping ears, large noses, or mouths that are either gaping or tiny. Some have long, sinuous limbs that allow them to crawl along walls and ceilings. Their thick, hairy hides, combined with the pelts and odd metal bits they wear for protection, give them a ragged and savage look. They have scattered patches of hair as tough as wire on their pale white skin. Large warts and other growths are scattered across their bodies. There is no single odor associated with fomorians; some smell strongly due to overactive sweat glands, others have no smell. Their voices are also each different due to their unique deformities.

COMBAT
Fomorians are brutal and cunning fighters, who use their great strength and size to overpower their enemies. They prefer to ambush their prey from the shadows, using their stealth and perception skills to surprise them. Fomorians are incapable of throwing boulders like other giants, due to their deformities. Instead, they wield a variety of blunt weapons, such as greatclubs, flails, maces, and giant-sized bolas. Their most feared weapon, however, is their evil eye, which can cause psychic damage or curse their foes with magical deformities. The curse of the evil eye can halve the speed of the target and give them disadvantage on ability checks, saving throws, and attacks based on strength or dexterity. The curse can only be lifted by a long rest or a powerful magic.
HABITAT / SOCIETY
Fomorians live in the dark and twisted realms of the Feywild and the Underdark, where they carve out lairs in caves, ruins, or dungeons. They rarely modify their homes, but adapt to what is already there. They are solitary creatures, who rarely associate with other fomorians or creatures. They are greedy and disloyal by nature, and they often fight among themselves over territory or resources. Fomorians have no culture or civilization of their own; they only seek to destroy and plunder what others have created. They hate all other living beings, especially those who are beautiful or good. They sometimes enslave or torture their captives for fun or food.
Their society is ruled by depravity and wickedness. The strongest and cruelest giant rules over all the others within reach, which is usually a small number. The women and children are treated as slaves. Acts of violence are common among fomorians, sometimes resulting in permanent injury or death.
Fomorians have been known to work with other creatures for evil causes. Usually the other creatures must completely dominate the fomorians, or be capable of it, to form the alliance. Such an agreement lasts only as long as the fomorians fear their cohorts. Once their interests no longer coincide or the fomorians no longer feel threatened, they double-cross their partners, as quickly as possible.
ECOLOGY
Fomorians are omnivorous creatures, who will eat anything that is edible or available. They hunt animals or humanoids for food, but they also scavenge or steal from others. They have no respect for nature or balance; they only care about satisfying their own hunger and greed.
These twisted giants can live for weeks on little or no food. This is good, because their underground dwellings do not provide an abundance of it. They can eat almost any organic material, including fungi, lichens, plants of all sorts, bats, mice and fish. They particularly savor the taste of large mammals, especially those that beg not to be eaten.
Preparing a meal usually involves torture rather than any efforts to improve its taste.
Fomorians have no natural predators, except for other fomorians or more powerful creatures of the dark. They are enemies of all fey creatures, who despise them for their corruption and evil. Fomorians are also hated by most races of the Underdark, such as drow, duergar, svirfneblin, and illithids. Fomorians have no allies or friends; they only serve themselves or those who can force them to obey.
