Fey Ancestry. The drow has advantage on saving throws against being charmed, and magic can’t put the drow to sleep.
Innate Spellcasting. The drow’s innate spellcasting ability is Charisma (spell save DC 15). She can innately cast the following spells, requiring no material components:
- At will: dancing lights
- 1/day each: darkness, faerie fire, levitate (self only)
Spellcasting. The drow is a 10th-level spellcaster. Her spellcasting ability is Wisdom (save DC 14, +6 to hit with spell attacks). The drow has the following cleric spells prepared:
- Cantrips (at will): guidance, poison spray, resistance, spare the dying, thaumaturgy
- 1st level (4 slots): animal friendship, cure wounds, detect poison
and disease, ray of sickness - 2nd level (3 slots): lesser restoration, protection from poison, web
- 3rd level (3 slots): conjure animals (2 giant spiders), dispel magic
- 4th level (3 slots): divination, freedom of movement
- 5th level (2 slots): insect plague, mass cure wounds
Sunlight Sensitivity. While in sunlight, the drow has disadvantage on attack rolls, as well as on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on sight.
ACTIONS
- Multiattack. The drow makes two scourge attacks.
- Scourge. Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 5 (1d6 + 2) piercing damage plus 17 (5d6) poison damage.
- Summon Demon (1/Day). The drow attempts to magically summon a yochlol with a 30 percent chance of success. If the attempt fails, the drow takes 5 (1d10) psychic damage. Otherwise, the summoned demon appears in an unoccupied space within 60 feet of its summoner, acts as an ally of its summoner, and can’t summon other demons. It remains for 10 minutes, until it or its summoner dies, or until its summoner dismisses it as an action.
5th Edition Advanced Mode
Limiting the power of a character and making the overall difficulty of the game harder, does not reduce the creativity, indeed it does quite the opposite.
The Game Master has the option to use any and all of the instances proposed in this guide, or just some of them according to their preference.
It is the lack of something that move and motivate characters, not the abundance of it
DESCRIPTION
The Drow Priestess of Lolth is a female drow who has been trained and chosen to serve the Spider Queen, the evil goddess of the drow. She is a powerful spellcaster who can wield both divine and arcane magic, as well as a skilled leader and manipulator who commands respect and fear in drow society. She wears elaborate and ornate robes and armor, often adorned with spider motifs, and carries a scourge, a whip-like weapon that can inflict poison damage. She has dark skin, white hair, and red eyes that glow in the dark. She is immune to sleep magic and resistant to charm effects, thanks to her fey ancestry. She also has darkvision, allowing her to see in the dark up to 120 feet.
COMBAT
The Drow Priestess of Lolth is a formidable opponent in combat, as she can use her innate and learned spells to attack, defend, or control the battlefield. She can cast spells such as darkness, faerie fire, levitate, web, conjure animals, dispel magic, divination, insect plague, and mass cure wounds. She can also summon a yochlol, a demonic servant of Lolth, once per day. She prefers to fight from a distance or behind cover, using her spells to hinder or harm her enemies while avoiding direct confrontation. However, if forced into melee combat, she can use her scourge to lash out at her foes, delivering painful poison damage with each hit. She is also adept at using her charisma and wisdom to influence or deceive others, especially when dealing with other drow or followers of Lolth.
HABITAT / SOCIETY
The Drow Priestess of Lolth lives in the Underdark, the vast network of caverns and tunnels that lies beneath the surface world. She is a member of a noble house, a large and powerful family that competes with other houses for resources and status in drow society. She is either the matron mother, the leader of the house and the highest-ranking priestess of Lolth, or one of her daughters or sisters who aspire to become the next matron mother. She is loyal to her house and to Lolth, but also ambitious and ruthless, willing to betray or eliminate anyone who stands in her way. She oversees the religious ceremonies and rituals of her house, as well as the training and education of other female drow who wish to become priestesses. She also participates in the political intrigues and conflicts that plague drow society, often scheming against rival houses or enemies of Lolth.
ECOLOGY
The Drow Priestess of Lolth plays a vital role in the ecology of the Underdark, as she is responsible for maintaining the balance between chaos and order among the drow. She serves as a conduit for Lolth’s divine power and will, enforcing her laws and commands among her followers. She also acts as a mediator and arbitrator between different factions and groups within drow society, resolving disputes and conflicts according to Lolth’s whims. She is revered and feared by other drow, as well as by many other creatures that inhabit the Underdark, such as spiders, demons, mind flayers, duergar, svirfneblin, and more. She is also a source of knowledge and wisdom for those who seek her guidance or favor, as she has access to ancient secrets and mysteries that are hidden in the depths of the Underdark.
