ACTIONS
- Multiattack The drow makes three scimitar attacks.
- Scimitar Melee Weapon Attack: +11 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 8 (1d6 + 5) slashing damage plus 18 (4d8) poison damage. In addition, the target has disadvantage on the next saving throw it makes against a spell the drow casts before the end of the drow’s next turn.
- Hand Crossbow Ranged Weapon Attack: +11 to hit, range 30/120 ft., one target. Hit: 8 (1d6 + 5) piercing damage, and the target must succeed on a DC 13 Constitution saving throw or be poisoned for 1 hour. If the saving throw fails by 5 or more, the target is also unconscious while poisoned in this way. The target regains consciousness if it takes damage or if another creature takes an action to shake it.
5th Edition Advanced Mode
Limiting the power of a character and making the overall difficulty of the game harder, does not reduce the creativity, indeed it does quite the opposite.
The Game Master has the option to use any and all of the instances proposed in this guide, or just some of them according to their preference.
It is the lack of something that move and motivate characters, not the abundance of it
DESCRIPTION
A Drow Favored Consort is a handsome or beautiful drow who has been chosen by a priestess of Lolth, the Spider Queen, as her personal companion and advisor. A Drow Favored Consort is usually a powerful spellcaster, often a wizard, who can assist the priestess in her schemes and ambitions. A Drow Favored Consort is also expected to provide pleasure and entertainment to the priestess, as well as to sire or bear her children. A Drow Favored Consort is a rare and coveted position in the drow society, as it grants access to wealth, power, and influence. However, it also comes with great risks, as the priestess can be fickle, jealous, or cruel, and the consort can face many rivals and enemies.
COMBAT
A Drow Favored Consort is not a mere ornament or a slave; he or she can hold their own in both conversation and combat. A Drow Favored Consort has innate magical abilities, such as creating dancing lights, casting darkness or faerie fire, and levitating themselves. They also have learned many spells from their studies and experiments, such as fireball, lightning bolt, or polymorph. A Drow Favored Consort can use their magic to attack, defend, or escape from their foes. They also have a keen mind and a silver tongue, which they can use to deceive, persuade, or intimidate others. A Drow Favored Consort is loyal to their priestess, and will fight to protect her or to advance her interests. However, they are also pragmatic and self-preserving, and will not hesitate to flee or surrender if the situation turns against them.
HABITAT / SOCIETY
A Drow Favored Consort lives in the Underdark, the vast network of caverns and tunnels that lies beneath the surface of the world. The Underdark is home to many dangerous and bizarre creatures, such as mind flayers, beholders, or aboleths. The drow are one of the most dominant and feared races in the Underdark; they are dark-skinned elves who worship Lolth, a chaotic evil goddess of spiders and lies. The drow society is matriarchal and hierarchical; the priestesses of Lolth rule over the noble houses, which compete for power and favor from the Spider Queen. The males are subordinate to the females, and are often treated as slaves or tools. A Drow Favored Consort belongs to one of the noble houses, usually the one of their priestess. They enjoy a high status and privilege among the drow, but they are also constantly under scrutiny and suspicion from their peers and rivals.
ECOLOGY
A Drow Favored Consort is a humanoid creature that requires food, water, and air to survive. They are adapted to the dark and hostile environment of the Underdark; they have darkvision that allows them to see in the dark up to 120 feet, and they have resistance to magic that helps them overcome spells cast by their enemies. However, they also have a weakness to sunlight; they are sensitive to bright light and have disadvantage on attack rolls and perception checks when exposed to it. A Drow Favored Consort can reproduce with other drow or with other compatible races; they can sire or bear children who inherit some of their traits and abilities. A Drow Favored Consort can live for centuries if they avoid death by violence or treachery; however, their lifespan is often cut short by the whims of their priestess or the schemes of their foes.
