DESCRIPTION

The brontosaurus has a gray or brown body covered with thick scales. Its neck can reach up to 40 feet in length, and its tail is almost as long. Its head is small and narrow, with a blunt snout and small eyes. It has four sturdy legs that end in hoof-like feet. The brontosaurus can grow up to 80 feet long and weigh up to 30 tons.

The brontosaurus is usually docile and gentle, but it can become aggressive if threatened or attacked. It can use its massive size and strength to crush or trample smaller creatures, or swing its tail like a whip to deal devastating blows. The brontosaurus can also make loud bellowing sounds that can be heard for miles.

COMBAT

The brontosaurus prefers to avoid combat, but it will defend itself or its herd if necessary. It can make one attack as part of its move action, on multiple targets caught in its course of movement. This attack is called a stomp, and it deals bludgeoning damage to the creatures under its feet.

The brontosaurus can also use its tail as a weapon, either as a reaction or as an action. This attack is called a tail swipe, and it deals slashing damage to the creatures within 20 feet of its tail. The brontosaurus can also knock prone the creatures hit by its tail swipe, unless they succeed on a Strength saving throw.

The brontosaurus has a high Constitution score, which means it can endure a lot of damage and resist some harmful effects. However, it has a low Intelligence score, which means it can be easily fooled or manipulated by smarter creatures. The brontosaurus also has a low Dexterity score, which means it can be slow and clumsy at times.

HABITAT / SOCIETY

The brontosaurus is a herbivorous dinosaur that lives in warm and humid regions, such as jungles, swamps, and rivers. It feeds on plants and fruits, and sometimes uses its tail to knock down trees to reach the higher branches. The brontosaurus needs a lot of food and water to sustain its huge body, so it spends most of its time grazing and drinking.

The brontosaurus is a social creature that lives in herds of up to 20 individuals. The herd is led by the oldest and largest member, usually a female. The herd members communicate with each other through low-frequency sounds that can travel long distances. The herd protects its members from predators and other threats by forming a circle around the weaker or injured ones.

The brontosaurus is not native to the Forgotten Realms, but it was brought there by ancient wizards or planar travelers who wanted to study or collect exotic creatures. The brontosaurus can be found in some remote areas of Faerûn, such as Chult, the High Forest, or the Shaar. The brontosaurus is also common in other worlds or planes, such as Eberron, Mystara, or the Beastlands.

ECOLOGY

The brontosaurus is an important part of the ecosystem where it lives, as it shapes the landscape with its movements and feeding habits. The brontosaurus creates paths through the dense vegetation, allowing other creatures to travel more easily. The brontosaurus also disperses seeds through its droppings, helping new plants to grow.

The brontosaurus has few natural predators, due to its massive size and strength. However, some creatures may try to hunt it for food or sport, such as tyrannosaurs, dragons, giants, or adventurers. The brontosaurus may also face competition from other herbivorous dinosaurs, such as hadrosaurs or stegosaurs.

The brontosaurus is valued by some cultures for its meat, hide, bones, or horns. The meat of the brontosaurus can feed hundreds of people for days, but it is tough and bland. The hide of the brontosaurus can be used to make leather armor or clothing, but it is heavy and hard to work with. The bones of the brontosaurus can be used to make weapons or tools, but they are brittle and prone to break. The horns of the brontosaurus can be used to make musical instruments or ornaments, but they are rare and difficult to obtain.

Brontosauri can be used as mounts or pulling animals for vehicles.
