5th Edition Advanced Mode
Limiting the power of a character and making the overall difficulty of the game harder, does not reduce the creativity, indeed it does quite the opposite.
The Game Master has the option to use any and all of the instances proposed in this guide, or just some of them according to their preference.

It is the lack of something that move and motivate characters, not the abundance of it

DESCRIPTION

A baboon is a small and agile beast that belongs to the monkey family. It has a long tail, a dog-like muzzle, and large canine teeth. Its fur is coarse and varies in color from yellow to olive to black. It has a distinctive mane around its neck and shoulders, and a bare patch of skin on its buttocks.

COMBAT

A baboon is not a timid creature. It is territorial and aggressive, and will attack any intruder that threatens its food or mates. It can run fast and climb well, and has advantage on an attack roll against a creature if at least one of its allies is within 5 feet of the creature and the ally isn’t incapacitated. A baboon’s main weapon is its bite, which can deal piercing damage to one target. A baboon can also use its claws, fists, or thrown objects to fight.

HABITAT / SOCIETY

A baboon can be found in forested, mountainous, or plains regions with a tropical or subtropical climate. It lives in large groups called troops, which are led by the strongest and most dominant males. A baboon troop can have up to 200 members, and each member has a rank and a role within the group. A baboon troop will defend its territory from intruders, but will also migrate to follow the seasons and the food supply.

A baboon is an unaligned creature that can communicate with simple sounds and gestures, and can learn new skills and use simple tools. It has a low intelligence, but a high dexterity and wisdom. It has a keen sense of smell and hearing, and a good vision. A baboon can be friendly or hostile to other creatures, depending on its mood and situation.

ECOLOGY

A baboon is an omnivorous creature that feeds on fruits, seeds, grasses, insects, rodents, birds, or even larger animals if it is hungry enough. A baboon can also scavenge carrion or raid crops. A baboon can consume up to 10% of its body weight in one meal, and can go for several days without eating.

A baboon reproduces by mating with one or more partners of the opposite sex. A female baboon gives birth to one offspring after six months of gestation. The offspring is nursed by its mother for about a year, until it is weaned and independent. The offspring stays with its mother’s troop for life, unless it is chased away by a rival male.

A baboon has few natural predators, except for leopards, lions, hyenas, crocodiles, or other large carnivores that can catch it off guard. A baboon can also fall prey to diseases or parasites that affect its health and survival.
