5th Edition Advanced Mode
Limiting the power of a character and making the overall difficulty of the game harder, does not reduce the creativity, indeed it does quite the opposite.
The Game Master has the option to use any and all of the instances proposed in this guide, or just some of them according to their preference.

It is the lack of something that move and motivate characters, not the abundance of it

Description

An air elemental myrmidon is a powerful elemental creature that has been conjured and bound by magic into a suit of plate armor. The armor is ritually created and engraved with symbols of air and storms. The myrmidon has no memory of its former existence as a free elemental, and obeys only the commands of its creator.

The myrmidon appears as a humanoid figure made of swirling air, with a vague semblance of a face. It can turn itself into a screaming cyclone, creating a whirlwind that batters creatures even as it flings them away. It can also unleash bolts of lightning from its flail, a weapon that resembles a spiked ball attached to a chain.

Combat

An air elemental myrmidon is a formidable opponent in combat, especially in open areas where it can fly and maneuver freely. It can use its flail to strike multiple times, dealing both bludgeoning and lightning damage. It can also use its lightning strike ability to deal extra damage and stun its target.

The myrmidon is resistant to lightning, thunder, and nonmagical physical attacks, and immune to poison and several conditions. It can also enter a hostile creature’s space and stop there, making it hard to escape or attack. However, it is vulnerable to water, which can slow it down and harm it.

Habitat / Society

An air elemental myrmidon does not have a natural habitat or society, as it is an artificial creation. It is usually found in the service of powerful mages, cults, or organizations that have the means and knowledge to summon and bind elementals. It may guard a location, perform a task, or accompany its creator on missions.

The myrmidon does not have any personality or emotions, and does not communicate with other creatures unless ordered to do so. It speaks Auran, the language of air elementals, and one other language of its creator’s choice.

Ecology

An air elemental myrmidon does not have any natural role in the ecology of the world, as it is an unnatural being. It does not need to eat, drink, or sleep, and does not reproduce. It may affect the environment around it with its wind and lightning powers, but only as directed by its creator.

The myrmidon may be opposed by druids, rangers, or other protectors of nature, who see it as an abomination and a violation of the elemental balance. It may also be sought after by adventurers, treasure hunters, or enemies of its creator, who may want to destroy it, capture it, or free it from its bondage.
