Innate Spellcasting (Abomination Form Only). The yuan-ti’s innate spellcasting ability is Charisma (spell save DC 15). The yuan-ti can innately cast the following spells, requiring no material components:

Magic Resistance. The yuan-ti has advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects.

5th Edition Advanced Mode
Limiting the power of a character and making the overall difficulty of the game harder, does not reduce the creativity, indeed it does quite the opposite.
The Game Master has the option to use any and all of the instances proposed in this guide, or just some of them according to their preference.

It is the lack of something that move and motivate characters, not the abundance of it

DESCRIPTION

The Yuan-Ti Abomination is a terrifying creature that combines the features of a human and a snake. It has a humanoid torso and arms, but its lower body is that of a huge serpent. Its head is a grotesque fusion of human and reptilian traits, with fangs, scales, and slit pupils. Its skin is covered with mottled patterns of green, brown, and yellow. Some Yuan-Ti Abominations also have snake-like appendages sprouting from their shoulders or back, giving them extra limbs to attack with.

COMBAT

The Yuan-Ti Abomination is a formidable opponent in combat, using its innate spellcasting abilities and its shapechanging power to surprise and overwhelm its enemies. It can cast spells such as animal friendship, suggestion, fear, and dominate person, using its high charisma to influence the minds of weaker creatures. It can also polymorph into a medium snake or back into its true form, allowing it to escape or ambush its foes.

The Yuan-Ti Abomination prefers to fight with its natural weapons, using its bite and constrict attacks to inflict poison damage and restrain its victims. It can also make ranged attacks with its spit or a weapon, such as a dart or a javelin. It is immune to poison and resistant to magic, making it hard to harm with conventional means.

HABITAT / SOCIETY

The Yuan-Ti Abomination is the result of a dark ritual that transforms a Yuan-Ti Malison into a more powerful and monstrous form. The ritual requires the sacrifice of hundreds of snakes and Yuan-Ti, as well as the favor of a dark god or an ancient evil. Only the most ambitious and ruthless Yuan-Ti seek this transformation, hoping to gain more power and influence in their society.

The Yuan-Ti Abomination is revered by other Yuan-Ti as a leader and a demigod. It commands the loyalty and obedience of lesser Yuan-Ti, such as Purebloods, Malisons, Broodguards, and Mind Whisperers. It also has the authority to create new Yuan-Ti by infecting humans or other humanoids with a venomous bite or a ritual.

The Yuan-Ti Abomination lives in hidden temples or ruins, surrounded by its followers and servants. It seeks to expand its territory and influence by conquering nearby lands or infiltrating other societies. It views other races as inferior and worthy of enslavement or extermination. It has a particular hatred for elves, dwarves, and dragons, who have opposed the Yuan-Ti in the past.

ECOLOGY

The Yuan-Ti Abomination is a carnivorous creature that feeds on the flesh and blood of its enemies or prey. It prefers to hunt live animals or humanoids, but will also scavenge corpses or carrion if necessary. It can digest almost any organic matter, including bones, scales, and metal.

The Yuan-Ti Abomination is a hermaphrodite that can reproduce with any other Yuan-Ti or snake. It lays eggs that hatch into Yuan-Ti Purebloods or Malisons, depending on the genetic traits of the parents. The Yuan-Ti Abomination does not care for its offspring, leaving them to fend for themselves or be raised by other Yuan-Ti.

The Yuan-Ti Abomination has few natural predators, as most creatures fear or avoid it. However, it may face threats from adventurers, heroes, or rival factions that seek to destroy it or its plans. It may also encounter competition from other Yuan-Ti Abominations that vie for power or resources.

Abomination is employed as material component to empower the following spells:
