A Look Inside Fortnightly Adventures #1: The Flame Pact (OSE)

The Survivor’s Journal: Day 12

The sky isn’t blue here; it’s the color of a fresh bruise, choked with soot. They call this place Enjin no Chi—The Land of the Fire God. Every breath feels like swallowing needles. Yesterday, the ash rain started. It doesn’t just fall; it eats. I watched the acid flakes pit my shield and char the leather of my boots in hours. But we have no choice but to push toward the summit. The Honō no Dōshi cultists are chanting in the dark, and the tremors from the volcano are getting rhythmic… like a heartbeat waking up.

The Land of the Fire God

The Flame Pact escalates the danger, moving from the desert sands to a remote, volcanic island where nature has gone mad. This module introduces a high-stakes Doomsday Clock: Referees track the awakening of the Fire God over 12 days. If the cultists aren’t stopped, the island faces total destruction.

  • The Ash Rain: A new environmental hazard. Ash rain halves movement and visibility, and is highly abrasive—dealing damage to exposed skin and permanently degrading metal equipment.
  • The Region Hex-Map: A desolate landscape of pine forests being slowly consumed by lava flows.

The Cult and the Lair

The island is contested by two primary forces: the fanatical Honō no Dōshi cultists and the ancient, giant insects that have adapted to the heat.

  • The Cult’s Camping & Ritual Site: A cratered site where obsidian columns stand over bowls of charred offerings.
  • The Giant Beetle’s Lair: Formed by ancient lava tubes, this tunnel system is now home to Giant Oil and Fire Beetles.

The Sentinel: The Lava Monster

Deep within the volcano’s base lies the Essence Seal, guarded by a tragic horror. The Lava Monster was once a man whose obsession with the Fire God led him to a transformative pact. Now, he is a 12-HD behemoth that regenerates wounds and unleashes devastating heat bursts.

“The creature became quite gullible—unless someone decides to mess with the rage within it.”

Inside the Spring Temple

Not all is fire and death. The Hot Springs Temple, once a place of monk-led prayer, now stands as a silent murder scene. Amidst the heated blue pools and white granite columns, players might find an obsidian magic sword—or the lingering Fireshadows that haunt the steam.
